There is a lot to consider with tile floors such as style, color, size, design, texture, and maintenance. By far the most important factor with tile is the installation. Some of the many details we take into consideration are flatness of the concrete slab, proper layout, the size of the cut pieces and grout joint.
The most common types of tiles today are ceramic and porcelain. Porcelain tiles are considered more durable and harder than ceramic tile. Ceramic tile can be a great value product. Then there is the tile edge to consider, rectified edge, or non-rectified. Many of the tiles today are rectified and come with a straight, sharp calibrated edge, allowing for smaller grout joints. Often the installation of these rectified tiles will require the concrete slab to be corrected for flatness. Non-rectified tile has a soft cushioned edge that allows for a larger grout joint and can typically be installed without the need for leveling the concrete slab.
